"Regarded as one of the most influential bands in the
history of rock, AC/DC are one of the pioneers of hard rock and heavy metal
music. AC/DC is the most successful and well-known band to hail from Australia.
With the release of the all-time classic album Highway to Hell, they became superstars. This would be followed with
their biggest selling album Back in Black,
a hard rock landmark. More than 30 years on, AC/DC are still inspiring rock
fans all around the world with their unique sounds and powerful lyrics."
The photo on the right is from the cover of the band's 1992
film release (directed by David Mallet) titled Live at Donington, which features the band in their highly-praised headlining
performance recorded on August 17, 1991 during the Monsters of Rock event held
at the Castle Donington racetrack in the U.K. (the show that year also
featured Metallica, Motley Crue,
Queensryche and The Black Crowes). They kicked the show off with a performance
of "Thunderstruck" and ran through 15 more of their best, including
many of their best-known smash hits, including "Shoot To Thrill", "Back in Black", "Dirty Deeds
Done Dirt Cheap", "Hells Bells", "You Shook
Me All Night Long", "Highway To Hell" and finishing with "For Those About To Rock
(We Salute You)".
