Offered here is a special edition print of Carlos Santana, photographed in San Francisco, CA in May 1999.

1999 was an amazing year for Carlos Santana. Starting off with a performance at the Grammy Awards (with Lauryn Hill), the highlight had to have been the mid-June release of Supernatural, the nine-time Grammy Award-winning record (including the Grammy for "Album of the Year"). It was an ingenious effort - spearheaded by label head Clive Davis – to match the guitar-slinger with top young talent and to use the pairings to deliver great music to fans both old and new.

Featuring hit singles including “Smooth” (with Matchbox Twenty singer Rob Thomas), “Maria Maria” and “Put Your Lites On” (with Everlast), the record also included the work of other guest musicians and vocalists such as Lauryn Hill, Dave Matthews and Eric Clapton.  Besides all of the Grammy gold the following year, the record sold well over 25 million copies ("going gold” in just 2 months).

To coincide with the release of the album, Santana and Co. embarked on a tour with Ozomatli and Mana and finished off the year with a “Millennium/New Year” concert at the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas.
