Original First Printing poster for the 1991 Lollapalooza Tour

34.625”h x 23”w overall print size, printed on thin poster paper (please note – due to the age of these prints and the thinness of the paper, there may be small creases at the corners – posters are sold as-is, but are in overall very fine shape).

Images for this poster were created by Autodesk’s Grant Blaha, using James Gleick’s “Chaos The Software” tools.

Shipped unmatted and unframed (Click here for deluxe framing options and costs)

Originally conceived as a way for Perry's band, Jane's Addiction, to bow out gracefully, the first Lollapalooza tour featured Jane's Addiction, Nine Inch Nails, Living Colour, Ice-T, Souxie & the Banshees, Butthole Surfers and the Rollins Band. In addition to the music, festival-goers could also watch Shaolin monks perform, as well as the ever-so-sick Jim Rose Circus Side Show (featuring "The Enigma" and "The Amazing Mister Lifto", who would lift heavy weights from multiple body piercings - eeeewww, yuck!).

The tour that year kicked off on 7/18/91 at the Compton Terrace venue in Tempe, AZ, and concluded on 8/28/91 at the King’s County Fairgrounds in Enumclaw, WA and according to tour notes on the Jane’s Addiction Web site (www.janesaddiction.org), “Perry and Dave got into a fist fight at the end of the show…” I’m sure that a good time was had by all…

The festival ran annually until 1997 and then went on hiatus until 2003, when it was brought back, sputtering in 2004 and then remade as a single weekend event beginning in 2005 (with new owners) in Chicago's Grant Park.
