Yeah Yeah Yeahs photographed in New York City in September, 2003. Earlier that year, the band released their critically-acclaimed debut recording titled Fever To Tell on Interscope Records, which went on to sell nearly a million copies - not too shabby for an "indie" band!
About the Photographer -
When Chrissy Piper was young, her mother let her walk around her neighborhood with her unloaded camera, pretending to take pictures. She took photography classes for her art electives in high school and the obsession never ended. She started her professional career shooting live events and portraits for bands, record labels and then magazines, and she’s been working as a freelance photographer since 2001. She is also the publisher of the zine titled 3 Records, which she began after she and a friend had a long conversation about what music meant to them – i.e., what their lives have been like, who they’ve met, etc. She started asking others about “what 3 records have changed or inspired your life?” and the ‘zine grew from there.
