According to Brian, yes, indeed, it IS Joe Jackson wearing the shoes! This photo was taken on London's South Bank and the light entering the frame is real sunlight. On a sadder note, Joe is said to have hated this cover!

"Look Sharp" was an amazing collection of punk-influenced pop songs by this witty and energetic songwriter, and so this debut album rocketed him up the ranks to stand alongside of contemporaries Graham Parker, Elvis Costello and Nick Lowe. While "Is She Really Going Out With Him" was the huge hit, other songs such as "Pretty Girls" and "Happy Loving Couples" struck a chord with many lonely young lads.
