In Jeff's words - South Bay Bessie is the name of a water creature of local fame according to the band. This band found me through a web link on “HeavyCore”, a big promoter of my art and a personal friend (I was first published in 1979, and the Web is one of the reasons my work is so widely recognized now). This album was produced by Royce Nunley of The Suicide Machines.

Out of the thousands of completed works I’ve done, this piece represents maybe the 3rd or 4th time I’ve used the ‘woodcut’ look in a piece, but I think the style lends itself to the nautical theme.
