This image is one of Jim's favorites from the "Burrito Deluxe" cover photo session, shot in A&M's Studio One, with the band in their "clean room suits" (Gram forgot his scarf!). The cover featured a large sequined burrito, with the band image appearing in the upper-left corner of the artwork.
Released in 1970, the second album from this country-rock group had Gram Parsons stepping back a bit to make room to showcase the creath and musical talents of the rest of the band. The record included fine Parsons originals such as "Older Guys" and "Cody Cody" along with a sterling version of "Wild Horses", released a year before Keith R. and the boys included it on a Rolling Stones record.
Jim McCrary adds - "We in the Art Department always referred to the Flying Burrito Brothers as "The Burritos". They were all very nice guys, and very easy to photograph with the 'Softbox' lighting becoming so popular at that time (1969)."
