According to Piper - The people of Redding, CA, call this "Haggard Country". We were returning from shooting with Mount Shasta in the background when I noticed the pond. At that point Merle and I were best buddies, sharing a bottle of tequila, and I said "we have to go over there and do one setup'. It was the last thing we did that day, and it wasn't even intentional.

 

Hanging out with people like Merle Haggard can feel like you're a character in a movie of their life. It seems unreal at times working with people you know in pictures and on television.
