As a young photographer, hanging out in the exciting NY punk/new wave scene, George was well-known for his photos of the influential NYC nightclubs - Max's Kansas City, CBGBs, the Mudd Club, Hurrah's, Xenon and Studio 54. Yet, it was with the Ramones that he found subjects so eager to work with him - like the swallows back to Capistrano, they gravitated towards each other for years!
As George puts it - "I think the Ramones liked to work with me because I was so quick. The cover shoot for "Halfway To Sanity" lasted 15 minutes - after I convinced Dee Dee that the polaroid he was holding was not good enough to actually use as cover art!"
