John Van Hamersveld, well-known for his psychedelic poster and album cover work on the West Coast created these prints for the loyal Clapton, Winwood and Blind Faith fans who will find this special print perfect for their home, office or other music listening area...
JVH was originally commissioned to produce the commemorative poster for the Eric Clapton/Steve Winwood reunion concerts that were staged at NY's Madison Square Garden in February of 2008, and fan response was so great that he was hired again to produce the tour poster prints sold at the 2009 U.S. Tour and 2010 European Tour stops.
According to Post Future - "Since John is so influenced by Hokusai and the Japanese printmakers (as you can see in his 'Waterworks' drawings + prints), the Clapton 'camp' knew that this 4th poster in the tour series would, without a doubt, be a masterpiece by JVH. However, the original plans were dashed when the Japanese tour merchandisers asked for a very cheap re-do of one of the existing posters. Now, you know we would never compromise the quality of any JVH poster or print - and neither would Clapton's side - so we arrived at another solution: a Clapton Company-commissioned venue poster only available on-line and not at the concert halls."
The main edition of 250 limited-edition posters (signed, numbered and chopped) was available at the Clapton on-line store and SOLD-OUT quickly.
