Mr. Mustaine and company were promoting their latest release
(Youthanasia) in full force (their drummer using 3 bass drums!), while Raliegh,
NC’s Corrosion of Conformity used their opening slot to pound their new record
(Deliverance) into the brains of their madly-moshing fans.
So. California
artist Matt Getz combined his West Coast/surfer dude upbringing with an
interest in neuroscience and physics to bring a unique perspective to his
posters, teaming with a friend of his with connections in the concert business
to release his first prints in the early 1990s. A strong reception for this
first effort resulted in a steady stream of work for bands including Pennywise,
the Cadillac Tramps, The Smashing Pumpkins, Rancid, The Offspring, Tool,
Megadeth, and Corrosion of Conformity.
He later parlayed this creative and production experience
into a multi-media printing and production company (Poster Pop) that he runs to
this day, producing prints, stickers and other merch of his designs, as well as
for well-known artists including Frank Kozik, Marco Almera, Coop and many
others.
