In Bill Smith's words - "I had worked with Genesis on the album "Duke" and a couple of years later, when they were working on the next album, they again asked me to come up with some new ideas.
They told me that the album was to be called ABACAB, apparently a chord sequence from a track on the album...I just happened to have my sketch book with me, bulging with ideas - some good, some not so good.
I rather reluctantly let them rifle through it and they came across a rough about the size of a postage stamp made up from bits of Pantone papers.
'That's what we want!' they said and we ended up with four sleeves each with five special Pantone colors, on special white board, with special embossing.
Out of the original four sleeves, I like the three which we have chosen for this print." | | | |
