Elvis Presley "50 Million Elvis Fans..." Ltd. Edition S/N Litho Print
In Stock (3)
24" x 26", printed on heavy stock. Edition limited to 200 signed & numbered prints, signed by the artist, Bob Jones.
Unmatted/Unframed
According to Mr. Jones - "The Colonel made it abundantly clear that there were to be no 'artsy, cutesy' covers for his boy. 'Don't give me any of that New York artistic stuff'!
Of the more than seventy LP and 45EP covers I was responsible for, the only departure from the Parker formula was the '50,000,000 Elvis Fans' cover.
This was the final album RCA released prior to Elvis' return from military service. The Colonel had been unable to come up wih a single gimmick to promote the album...The Colonel handed me the gold suit chrome in his office in Palm Springs and told me to come up with something.
I started making a few thumbnail sketches for a cover..the Colonel looked over to me and asked to look at what I had been doing. With barely a glance at the sketches, he chose the one with the full figure surrounded by six or eight smaller ones...
He said "That's it, but I want at least a couple of dozen of the little pictures in in there.."
