Sculpted in poly-resin by a skilled team of artists, then hand-painted in fine detail, standing approx. 12" high to the top of his keyboard stack. It is offered in a very limited, numbered edition of 3000 and includes a resin stage display base. Emerson's figure is dressed in his silver bolero jacket and knee-high boots and is approximately 9" tall. This is an official product licensed by Keith Emerson, who also participated in the art direction of the project.
Keith Emerson comments about the project; "This is such a blast and an honor to be the first figure in their Rock Iconz Sculpture Series! Although we worked closely on this I'm sure it hasn't been an easy task for KnuckleBonz and I really admire their skill and determination in achieving the finished result which is, I think, rather fun," says Emerson.
A keyboard stylist who incorporates aspects of jazz, classical and rock music into his compositions for organ and synthesizer, it was Emerson's virtuosity and mastery of every new keyboard that was introduced to modern music in the 60s and 70s - from Hammond organs to Moog synthesizers - that kept him in everyone's Top 10 Keyboardist lists for years.
Whether with The Nice, Emerson, Lake & Palmer, Emerson, Lake & Powell, or with his current Keith Emerson Band mates, Emerson will always be remembered as a musician willing to take chances and to apply his amazing technical abilities to both create and re-create original and well-known music in his own inimitable style.
"Picture of an Exhibitionist" (also the title of his autobiography).
Personally, I was always amazed that he wasn't crushed when he did his solos on his back, with keyboards on his chest.
