Muse Absolution Limited-edition fine art silkscreen print
Approx. 24"w x 19"h image printed on 410gsm Somerset Tub sized paper; 33"w x 25.5"h overall print size. Published in 2003, printed by Corriander Studios, London, UK. One of 100 total prints, signed/numbered in pencil by the artist, Storm Thorgerson. This print also features the artist's stamp and thumbprint (see close-up image, below).
Released in the UK in September, 2003 and then in the U.S. the following March, Absolution was the third studio album by Muse and contained its first two Top 10 singles - "Time Is Running Out" and "Hysteria". While the album only rose to #107 on the Billboard Magazine "Top 200" album charts, it did reach #1 on the "Heatseekers" chart and went 2X Platinum in the UK. while "going Gold" in the U.S..
The trio was honored in 2010 with a O2 "Silver Clef" award, accepting it at a special fund-raising awards ceremony in July. Other winners have included David Bowie, Genesis, Elton John, Pink Floyd and The Who, who received the first Silver Clef in 1976. The award is given by the Nordoff-Robbins charity, who provide music therapy sessions to children and adults in need. |
