Led by singer/songwriter Peter Hammill and named after a machine that generates static electricity (this was the late 60's, you know), this art rock ensemble had a strong cult following.
This 1971 album was the last before Hammill left to pursue a solo career, but the band has reformed with various personnel numerous times in the last 30+ years, releasing a reunion album called "Present" in 2005.
