The session occurred just a couple of months after the release of Byrne’s solo record titled Feelings (on Warner Bros. Records). The record was a fairly eclectic mix of tracks featuring an interesting mix of musicians and producers, including Luka Bop, Paula Cole, Devo’s Mark Mothersbaugh and Morcheeba. The record’s cover art featured a photo of a David Byrne doll created by pop artist Yuji Yoshimoto. Was this the “Wicked Little Doll” that was the subject of a song by the same title on this record (built on Devo-esque beats, for sure).
