Pink Floyd "Wish You Were Here v2" album cover fabric poster print
Pink Floyd "Wish You Were Here v2" album cover fabric poster print
In Stock (3)

Officially-licensed collectible print with the image reproduced on a silk-like, washable and durable 100% polyester fabric - it won't rip like a paper poster. The quality of the printing is really impressive, and its approx. 30" x 40" size will make it the focal point wherever you hang it up.

Light as a feather, the print can be hung using tape, Velcro, tacks, clips, poster hanger sets, etc.. Take a dowel rod and some clips and turn it into a flag (you'll be the center of attention at your home-town parades, no doubt!). Of course, you'll want to bring it to the next concert you attend - just be mindful that others will want to have it for their very own  :-)

In addition to the famous "Burning Man" LP cover image, this print also features three more of the other great images created to illustrate the 25th anniversary package, including "The Diving Man". Interestingly, this image is actually one of a yoga instructor who was hired to do an underwater headstand on a specially-built frame in Mono Lake, CA. The man had to hold his breath for a long time while the shot was taken, we're told!

The 1975 follow-up to their monster Dark Side of the Moon and dedicated to founding member Syd Barrett, the haunting central theme of ‘Shine on you Crazy Diamond’ is never far out of consciousness. ‘Welcome To The Machine’ introduces Waters’s fascination with pessimistic sci-fi views of the future. ‘Wish You Were Here’ itself is a sad and wistful indictment of insecurity. Designer Storm Thorgerson recalls that one theme, indeed one word, prevailed during the recording of the album at Abbey Road Studios – ‘absence’. Nothing more poignantly, or powerfully illustrated this than the unexpected arrival of Syd Barrett at the studio during the vocal takes for ‘Shine On You Crazy Diamond’, having been absent for seven years.

Says Storm – “the handshake from the burning man is as empty or absent a gesture as you can get. The man is really on fire. He wore an asbestos suit under the cloth suit, which extends over the head, where a wig was attached. The first attempts at setting him alight were in the wrong wind direction. The flames were blown back and ignited his moustache for an instant. A close shave, one might say.’. . . .” The entire album design was then hidden from public view by an opaque black shrink-wrap. In effect, this cover, too, was absent.
