In between his 1978 tour to support Darkness on the Edge of Town and his huge 1980 tour to promote The River, Springsteen played a birthday set (9/23/79) at NY’s Madison Square Garden as part of the “No Nukes” benefit concert organized by Musicians United for Safe Energy (MUSE). His high-energy “Mitch Ryder Medley” was included in the No Nukes 3LP set.
