Richard toured with the Sex Pistols as they "vacantly" made their way across America in 3 weeks in 1978. This image was originally shot for Newsweek magazine and then became a well-known "stock" image of The Pistols.
Sid and Johnny and the boys were tired and bored much of the tour, and so to alleviate their boredom, they spent much of the time on stage hurling insults at the audience, endearing themselves to their American fan base.
